             The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) - Local Government Unit (LGU) conducted a blessing ceremony and turn-over of fishing boat “banca” as an input assistance in support to community fish landing center establishment project. The activity was held at Barangay Don Aurelio Chicote covered court on the 22nd of  March 2016.

             The project aims to uplift the livelihood income of the fisherfolks under target program in the fisheries sector. It opens more livelihood opportunities for the people of Governor Generoso being one of the major fish producing municipalities in the region.


            This project targeted actions to reduce poverty and generate economic transformations. It aims to produce a positive impact to the economy of the municipality.

              A total of 100 Fisherfolk beneficiaries of 100 non-motorized banca were from Barangay: Manuel Roxas (10 Fisherfolks), Poblacion (9), Tibanban (9), Don A. Chicote           (50), Montserrat (8), Tamban    (11), Surop (2) and Anitap (1).

               Different notable personalities were present to grace the event. The visitors were Fatma M. Idris,  CESO V- Regional Director, BFAR XI, Ms. Erlinda D. Ali, Provincial Fishery Officer- Dvo. Oriental BFAR XI, Mr. Natividad Gunayan, NAPC Representative, Mr. Felipe Montera, Sr. Aqua culturist, Pagro-Mati, Barangay Captains of Manuel Roxas, Brgy. Montserrat and Brgy. Don Aurelio Chicote.

               Hon. Katrina Joy H. Orencia, Municipal Vice Mayor gave her inspirational message to the participants encouraging them to be involved in the programs of the government to uplift the lives our people.

                The Don Aurelio Chicote Fisherfolks Association (DACHISFA) was tasked by the local government unit to manage the Community Fish Landing Center (CFLC).
