Fishing and farming are the major sources of livelihood in the area. The local fishermen contributed almost of the total municipal fish production which is coming from our traditional fishing grounds within our territorial waters.

The alarming status of the municipal water resources is serious which needs immediate action to be undertaken, like regulations of fishing efforts, stop competition of marginal and commercial fishermen fishing within the area.
